It’s been a whirlwind of performance after performance since the last post – all with pretty limited casting so we’ve really had to pull our weight and more heavily. The good side of that means really getting to learn how much your mind and body are capable of and how much you as a performer are capable of.

We had two events of Recuerdame each with two showings, one at Hola Fest 2023 in Charlotte and the other at Oktoberfest in Hickory. The Hickory engagement also included a little workshop for that community on circus and physical theatre and it was really nice to be in their lovely community theatre and to talk with the arts crowd there of all ages! I don’t have any pics to share from these events b/c we were so limited and having to put stuff up quickly so I only have random video clips which can be found on our social media.

The most recent endeavor we just came off of is the Ricochet middle school tours geared towards eighth graders. We went to TEN different schools in the span of one school week. That’s two shows a day for five days- loading in, performing, Q&A, loading out- and doing it all over again in that same day, then again for the rest of the week. The kids were really receptive to the theme of gun violence and seemingly ready to have those conversations, making astute observations here and there about the show, the tone, the spoken word, etc. It was a lovely experience but we’re glad to take some time for recovery and training things outside of the skills that were in the run.

On the horizon is another showing of Ricochet at KCACTF in GA coming up in February along with more projects big and small to round out our 2024 season. We’re super proud of ourselves for the things we’ve been able to accomplish and surprise ourselves with for ourselves and our community. In training news- we’re excited and thankful to announce that we have been granted a scholarship to attend Pitch Catch Circus for some official acro training in Spring 2024- they were even kind enough to be able to supplement some financial help with housing!

We’re excited to catch up on some much needed accessory training and take a break from act creation and performance for a month or so and hope everyone enjoys their holidays!
