Summertime Circus

Hello friends!

This Summer after coming back from Chicago- we got to do a slew of fun gigs and events! In addition to some birthday gigs, we also got to work with Down to Earth Aerials again and it’s always a pleasant experience. They do a summer reading program through the libraries and community centers to engage the youth and further reinforce why literacy is so important. Reading and writing is such a passion of ours that these gigs are very meaningful to us in addition to the connection with the next generation of change makers. We also did a gala event with them over a weekend in Sea Island, GA. The fact that Georgia indeed has beaches was something that we totally forgot until we were in the midst of it and got to see such lovely landscapes, including taking our last day in GA to explore Driftwood Beach and do some impromptu acro.

Charlotte International Arts Fest had Nouveau Sud back this year as well! They requested an Americana themed show which tickled us, but it was cool to move to a different genre of music than our usual fare and it was nice to have an opportunity to move with our friends. We wrapped up our Summer in the most natural way, literally, by being part of the Bloom instructor showcase appropriately titled “Solstice” as we move away from Summer and into the Autumn vibes. We weren’t sure for a while if we’d be in town to participate but we are so glad that things worked out in a way where we were able to join on at the last moment. It’s great to be part of the circus community there and see everyone again!

We hope everyone’s Summer was awesome and now on to what everyone calls “gigtober”! Phew!
